We have TONS of kids that are parent-less and without any support system, let's work on getting them into loving families and forget about what the physical make-up is of those loving families.
And as to those religious folks that say God wouldn't support this, check in with your common sense for just a minute...God is about love, compassion, empathy and understanding.
I have never understood those who promote hate as a way to come closer to God.Ellen Thwaites Brockmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11106688232624959066noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-587902609826926070.post-5532351200981419602012-02-05T15:24:39.776-08:002012-02-05T15:24:39.776-08:00A bit off-topic, but: As a business owner in an Ar...A bit off-topic, but: As a business owner in an Arizona tourist town, I encourage anyone considering participation in a boycott to seriously consider whether or not the boycott is specific enough to touch the intended target; or, rather, will it simply look cool while harming bystanders. I still hold a HUGE grudge against HRC due to their jumping onto the "boycott Arizona" fad a couple years ago, which directly harmed GLBT businesses and employees, most of whom had supported HRC in the past. I will never again donate a penny to HRC. Their boycott was overly broad and irresponsible. It actually harmed those whom they repute to protect in their charter. Groupthink is laziness.WadeLakeMysteryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17397038018510616766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-587902609826926070.post-8296509532134139722012-02-05T07:47:07.732-08:002012-02-05T07:47:07.732-08:00Us boycotting Chick-Fil-A, I can understand. Which fits in well with Washington being the first state to have voters approve a civil union law when it was put before them in 09 With R71. It dose not mean it will be easy as the main group in the state opposing this has stated that they have had $1,000,000 donated from out of state to help fight equality. However that statement could come back to bite them as WA voters don't tend to take kindly to groups backed and funded by out of state powers.
You also hit the nail on the head about how NOM and those sympathetic to them talk. Its part of why reading comment sections of articles. They scream persecution because their will and desires to persecute others is not being fallowed, not only that but that but because the majority of people don't agree with them. Regardless of the fact that their right to hold that view is not being taken from them, however they can't seem to wrap their head around the fact that the constitution dose not grantee that no one else will disagree with them, let alone that they will not use their rights to do so publicly.
It really is a case of straight privilege where they are used to being catered to and see any thing where they are not explicitly being catered to, even though they are not having any right removed at all, they see it as persecution that their desires and theirs only are being catered to. So when they get to arguing logic and facts for the hardcore of these become basically pointless. Die to the fact that no matter what it is still not 100% their way so it is therefor persecution.aNorthWestViewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03598507140332496283noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-587902609826926070.post-47989578919410057012012-02-04T21:16:52.380-08:002012-02-04T21:16:52.380-08:00God hates double mochaccino lattes. I also thought I read more than once that public support as poled for marriage equality there is about 54%, so NOM’s (National Organization of More-Theocracy) efforts there don’t look that promising to me.

I have no remaining family in my own state (Nebraska) but lots of relatives up in Washington State and they’re all pretty accepting of me. So I should tell my own state—who constitutionally bans same-sex marriage AND all other forms of domestic partnerships or civil unions—to go fuck itself, move up to Washington and start some serious husbear hunting there…. :-) Although Iowa has marriage equality too, I think that Washington’s marriage equality will be way more resilient than Iowa’s. The whole center of the country is a rightwing hellhole as I’m sure you’re aware.Davenoreply@blogger.com
