Update on New Jerseys gay marriage vote. The bill has been struck down by a vote of 20-14. After the vote was read the audience cheered. I kid you not...it went down just like this:
Video is already in archives, but for some reason I can't open it. Maybe it's still not ready, or too many people are trying to access it... Other videos are available, but this one, from January 7th, is not working... I wanted to see the whole thing first... Ugh...
Sorry, I found the right link... I mean, I fabricated it in analogy to those that worked from before; apparently, their current link is a bad one... This one works for me...
The ONLY comfort I get from these "people" clapping on video after the vote is that as history has proven over and over, in the future when we are ALL looked upon as equal, history will show these faces on video and refer to them as the bigots and ignorant of the early 21st century just as the pictures of the white people throwing tomatos and screaming at the young black children attending white schools back in the 1960's. Hang in there. Our time will come.
Portuguese Parliament has just aproved gay marriage!!!!!! I´m so happy and proud of living in Europe!! Now you have another reason to visit us!! You are welcome! XD
What I dont understand is that the court ruled NJ should make gay marriage equal under the Equal Protection clause. So, NJ came up with CU, which are not equal to marriagel. Now NJ Senate votes for inequality. Isnt the result then invalid? Yes, this one guy said 'we will fix all inequalties and leave it a CU', but that is still unequal. So, this decision violates the courts ruling, so NJ state is not doing what they should do. Someone has to take this to court again then, because this isnt legally valid. Can a state just go against a court's ruling? Someone correct me if Im wrong. I just watched a bit on the link Kirilexx posted, thanks for that. I loved Mrs Gill! Im said this is happening, will those no voters ever get it? summer x
Yeah, I saw the very ending of it on their site.
ReplyDeleteAll the cheers and applause...
It was sickening...
It's so frustrating and disgusting. The idea that they think being bigots makes them heroes makes me want to punch someone.
ReplyDeleteIs there a captured video of the vote and cheer? I would like to get a copy for a video idea I have...
ReplyDeleteOuch! Sorry to hear that.
ReplyDeleteGeez...very apropos video there. It's insane how mindless people can be.
ReplyDeleteJust watched this scene last night...and then relived it today.
