My Uncles Wedding...Zero To Controversy In 60 Seconds

Todays NOM news caught me off guard and made me split a gut laughing. Why? Readers who follow us on YouTube may know that we have been involved with a great children's book called "My Uncles Wedding". The Book, which was written by Eric Ross, is a simple story of a little boy who's Uncle has decided to get married to his boyfriend and the book tells the story of the wedding from his point of view. It's a simple story that is aimed at kids who have gay family members. However, this is not the funny part...

Last weekend our family had the honor of attending the book launch party at A Different Light Bookstore in San Francisco were yours truly got to read the book to a crowd of kids and adults. Afterwards there was a question and answer session with Eric Ross during which many insightful questions were asked of the author and Tracy Greene, the illustrator. I only had one question but sadly, someone beat me to asking it. I wanted to know how long the author thought it would be before NOM picked this book up and attempted to use it as an example of "indoctrinating" children?...and...What would he plan to do if that happened?

Good question indeed...to find the answer and listen to the story, read on after the jump...

The answer to the question turned out to be just under three days. This is what I had found so amusing. No sooner had the question been framed when the wheels of controversy had already been grinding away over at NOM. The only thing missing now is the fake teacher claiming that she was forced to give the books to the fake, paid actor families who were forced to read the book to nonexistent children while playing Lady GaGa in the background. Just like they did with "King and King'. It's coming I tell ya...just like that coming storm.

I have Good As You to thank for bring todays NOM blog post on the book to light. I have to say...I almost sprayed my coffee all over my computer screen. someone really should warn you about these things first. To be fair, NOM did little more than feature the book with a supporting blurb from California State Senator Mark Leno. NOM's real intent in posting the book to their blog is revealed in the comments to the post...and I'm sure it will pop up in an anti-equality ad very soon. Here's a sampling of the discussion taking place over at the NOM site:

By John St. Michael:

Yes, by all means lets encourage children into a lifestyle suffering pandemic AIDS, syphilis, MDR gonorrhea, flesh-eating MRSA and others.....
You knew this was coming...By Barb:

More about the book:
"a beautiful educational tool for children "
Really? I'd say "an insidious indoctrination tool for children."
And my personal favorite...from Don:

Vladimir Ilyich Lenin, who was a communist and the first head of state of the former Soviet Union, had this to say regarding children:

"Give me four years to teach the children and the seed I have sown will never be uprooted."
"Give us the child for 8 years and it will be a Bolshevik forever."
"The best revolutionary is a youth devoid of morals."
"Destroy the family, you destroy the country."

The homosexual "equality" agenda is backed by the Communist Party and what we are seeing is the implementation of the communist plan for children as preached by Vladimir Ilyich Lenin. Don't be fooled by the cover story that this is about some sort of "equality" for homosexuals. That is merely camouflage!

Communist take over...or simple childrens book? Perhaps knowing the story will help you decide. Fortunately I got your story time right here:

And for those who couldn't make the signing...Sean Chapin put together an awesome video to commemorate the event. Check it out and check out his videos. He always does amazing work!

Until next time dear readers.......

  1. This is typical NOM garbage, so I can't say that I'm surprised. The more they do this, the more tired I get with it, and I'm sure, the more tired and annoyed average non-crazy people get. On a different note, I'm totally diggin' the new blog layout and background! Nice! X)

  2. I get so mad sometimes . . . I hate to read the comments section. After my last surrogate birth (about 4 months ago) I stopped reading the comments because some very hateful people were saying horrible things about my IPs and their beautiful babies. I just don't get it.

  3. I tried leaving a comment of my own on their blog, but it didn't seem to take. I just can't get over how blind and self-rightous people seem to be there.

    It's amazing.

  4. I didn't have any coffee. And you issued a warning. But I think I would have spilt it on my laptop nonetheless. At first, this Lenin stuff is hilarious - though I guess I would not find it that funny if the guy thinking it were to live nearby. But if I see this extraordinary nonsense as something which the guy writing it either _believes_ or is trying to impress upon people ready to believe it, I do find it quite frightening, after all. I guess there is no second degree at all in this, isn't there? Or is it the usual "the worse the comment the better the rating", which has many comment lines fall into either emptiness or overacting troll-like behaviors?

    (very nice background, yep!)

  5. Nyet, Comrades... the glorious plans for Revival of People's Great Union of Soviet Socialist Republics have been exposed! Drat, foiled again!

(Ahh, but Comrades, we still have the plot of fluoride in their drinking water, bwaahahahahaha).

  6. Oh goody, what another great surprise. I am so tired of the moronic right these days. I'm so glad to see that in their insane push to punish working class people for being in unions and demanding their rights, they have not forgotten to attack us gays as well! I would hate to think I only had one political fight to consume the time I don't have for it to consume!!

It has gotten to the point that I can't and don't read comment sections or even stay on a channel when a right wing talking head comes on because if I do I'm liable to destroy my TV and computer monitor. I really can't wait for 2012 and pray to god that this even more destructive and intrusive version of the GOP is booted out of office with an even larger landslide then they where last time, as I'm sick and tire and could punch 90% of them in the face if I saw them walking down the street.

  7. As Princess Leia said to Grand Moff Tarkin " The more you tighten your grip, Tarkin, the more star systems will slip through your fingers. " The more absurd and vitriolic their rants, the more people join our side. I say let em rage! Bwa! Ha! Ha!

  8. I'm not surprised at all. John St Michael posted a bunch of fake profiles to 'clone' his opinions on Sam Arora's fb page...anyway...I grew up with straight parents and the indoctrination didn't take.

And about the King and King debacle--you mean they paid those people to drum up this whole thing? If so, this is the lowest of the low and unfortunately, the BS detectors aren't firing off on all cylinders. I haven't heard of any other controversies since that one
